About Wheel Duel

Wheel Duel is a free spinning wheel for making decisions — built to be fast, fair, and honest about what it does with your data.

Who makes it

Wheel Duel is built and run by one independent developer. It is not a company, a team or a venture-funded product — it is one person's tool, published because the existing spinners were either covered in ads, demanded an account, or quietly uploaded whatever you typed into them.

How the randomness works

Every draw calls crypto.getRandomValues, your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator — the same source used to generate security tokens. We deliberately avoid Math.random, which is faster but not uniformly distributed enough to defend in a public draw.

The winner is chosen before the animation starts, and the wheel is then rotated to land on that slice. This means the spin length, the easing curve and your frame rate have no influence on the result. When you set weights, the slice widths change to match the real odds, so what you see on the wheel is what the draw actually does.

What we store

Your options, weights, colours, settings and spin history live in your browser's local storage and are never sent to a server. There is no account, no login, and no sync. Clearing your browser data — or using the "Erase all saved data" button in Settings — removes everything.

Share links carry the wheel inside the URL itself rather than on our servers, which is why a very large list can't be shared as a link and needs a CSV export instead.

Why Battle Duel

Most spinners answer a question and stop. Battle Duel removes whichever option the wheel lands on and spins again, round after round, until one option survives. A list of eight restaurants becomes seven rounds of suspense instead of one anticlimactic result — and at the end you get the full knockout order.
